Avenger EnterPrises
This section is dedicated to things associated - however loosely - with Avenger Enterprises. Avenger started out as my own publishing venture and became an umbrella for all manner of activities.
I am currently relaunching Avenger Enterprises as a vehicle for my fiction. Ultimately the plan is to publish licensed Traveller* novels alongside my own.
To begin with, I am releasing some of my fiction and fencing books in order to gain experience of the self-publishing process. If I can achieve enough sales to demonstrate viability I will proceed with the next stage of the project. This may be a Kickstarter or other crowdfunding venture which will hopefully generate sufficient funds for proper cover art** and, well, whatever else comes up. This is very much a voyage of discovery.
I have a framework agreement in place to publish novels set in the Official Traveller Universe. All manner of plans and outlines exist but this part of the project requires significant time input. I need to know this is viable before I invest.
* Traveller is the Science-Fiction RPG created by Marc Miller.
** I won't have anything to do with generative AI

Deepnight Revelation was one of my big Traveller projects - a multi-book, multi-year voyage to investigate a lethal mystery. And also battling giant bug monsters with improvised flamethrowers on top of a train!
Avenger Enterprises Factoids
Avenger Enterprises was founded in the early 2000s as a licensee for the Traveller RPG. The reason for the name is complicated and a bit lame, so getting an answer to that will cost you a few minutes and a beer. Over time Avenger became an umbrella for various activities such as convention appearances and the like. My online gaming ID is usually some variant on MJD-Avenger.
I used to play a lot of Call of Duty, but a few years back I moved to Elite:Dangerous. I played the original Elite when it came out (and yes, I got to Elite ranking). In this incarnation I've flown with a few different squadrons but most notably the Asshat Adventure Club. If you want to find me I'm on PC. My CMDR is MJDAvenger, and my Fleet Carrier is named RSS Avenger.
The original carrier, which I had to leave behind when I moved from console to PC, was Deepnight Avenger. That name is a reference to the Deepnight Corporation which I invented for the Traveller RPG and (rather obviously) to Avenger Enterprises. The Traveller universe contains a number of Deepnight ships - the ill-fated Deepnight Endeavour, Deepnight Revelation which made the epic journey to Terminus Point and perhaps saved the entire galaxy, and others.
The concept of Research Starship (RSS) Avenger predates the Deepnight Corporation. It was created for Starfarers' Gazette, a tongue-in-cheek publication supporting the Traveller RPG. Imagine Top Gear in a spaceship... that sort of thing. The editions of Starfarers' Gazette I have managed to recover have been mildly edited to remove some serial numbers but otherwise retain their original character. Make of them what you will.
