Transportation Books
I’ve written a number of books on technology and transportation subjects. I think the first one was on space travel, which was most closely my field, and that in turn led to the others. I suppose it’s a case of one thing leading to another; having done one transportation title I’m suddenly an established transportation author and others naturally follow.
Space Missions
Space Missions was an unusual project. The publisher had a large amount of fragmentary text on hand and wanted it linking together into a coherent whole. That required as much rewriting as if I’d just written the book from scratch, but I wasn’t to know that at the start. Like many ‘packaged’ books, there’s no author credit on the cover, just the general editor. But I wrote this one. I know that because they paid me….

Encyclopaedia of Motorcycles
Another oddball project, this one was a new edition of an existing book. I was contracted, along with another writer, to update and rework the existing text, and to add quite a lot to it. I think I wrote six of the eight chapters in the final book, plus some oddments here and there.
